The album peaked at #2 on iTunes’ “Top Pop Albums” tally, and debuted in the top 15 on iTunes’ overall sales chart. USA Today hailed the album as “ambitious, well-crafted pop-rock” while Newsday praised “the sharpness of (Star’s) pop-rock visions…upbeat, live-in-themoment spirit…(and) memorable melodies.”
Ryan performed the breakthrough single from the album, “Breathe”, on numerous national TV outlets including the Rachael Ray Show and CBS’ The Early Show on Saturday Morning. His music has also been featured on an array of TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance?, The Vampire Diaries, The Biggest Loser, The Amazing Race, Lie To Me and on ESPN.
Star spent last year touring the U.S. with an array of well-known artists including Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas and the Goo Goo Dolls. He kicked off 2012 joining Andy Grammer on tour and is now set to embark on a run with the Parlotones. Star has received extensive praise for his energetic and powerful live shows. Legendary artist Billy Joel caught a recent set and was quoted in Newsday as saying “I was really impressed with him [Star]. He’s got great stage presence. He’s got really good material. This guy was jumping all over the room, hanging off the balconies… He was great.”
Following the tour with the Parlotones, Ryan will head back to the studio to finish working on his next full length album. In the meantime, fans can download “The America EP”.
Ryan’s new single is “Stay Awhile.” The provocative accompanying video recently caused a stir on MTV’s Buzzworthy blog and is currently featured on VH1.com and AOL Music.
