Parachute Serenades You with She Is Love

Over the past few months, you may have found yourself unknowingly humming the song “She is Love” from the newest NIVEA commercial. Its romantic guitar riffs and the lead singer’s soft, raspy voice is the perfect combination for a timeless tune. If the half a million listens on MySpace are any indication of how addicting the song is, then Parachute, the five-member band responsible for the song, is clearly rocketing towards the top.

Parachute – Will Anderson, Johnny Stubblefield, Alex Hargrave, Kit French, and Nate McFarland – began as Sparky’s Flaw while the guys (minus Nate, who they didn’t meet until college) were in high school. Their original name paid homage to a friend of the band’s, who, according to Will, was nicknamed Sparky and “wore a duct tape shoe everyday.” Though that remained their name for a while, the intention was always to change it, and eventually they settled on Parachute.
