Parachute Ready Losing Sleep
“It’s a great culmination of all our hard work over the last couple years,” lead singer Will Anderson told Alternative Addiction about the upcoming release. “We are excited to put this CD out and keep working really hard.”
The album represents the bands hard work over a number of years, including logging many hours while the band’s members were still in college. After inking a deal with Mercury in 2007, Anderson and his band mates were still juniors in college making recording their debut album a laborious experience.
“They told us they wanted us to finish school, and we wanted to finish school, so we worked on our record while juggling classes, it was a really interesting time,” said Anderson. “We were going to classes on Monday through Thursday and learning about American History, and going Friday through Sunday learning about basically the entire recording process.”
The band worked with a talented group of producers including John Shanks, John Fields, Chris Keup, and Dan Wilson (of Semisonic) on the album, and now embarks on a tour in support of the debut album, opportunities that Anderson and the band aren’t taking for granted.
“We’re having a blast; we graduated college and now have the chance to play music for a living so we are very, very grateful.”
The band recently dropped the “VA” from their name, as the legal reasons requiring its presence disappeared.
