Justin started to make headlines three years ago, when he won second place in a local singing competition called Stratford Idol which, he confesses, “I wasn’t taking it too seriously at the time.” In order to share the win with his loved ones, Justin posted his videos from the competition on YouTube. Discovered by his manager, Scooter Braun, he was then flown to Atlanta, where he met his newest fan, Usher, who signed the 13 year-old to his first deal. Backed by Antonio “LA” Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group, Justin signed with Island Records in October 2008. With a 4.0 GPA and his eyes set on college, Justin is just getting started. “I think I can grow as an artist,” he says, “and my fans will grow with me.”
